Last day my friend told me that she got a call for job with reference to one of the social networking sites. I did not believe on it. Later on she showed me a call letter and I was shocked. Is it a reality???This changed her life and gave her and me a new direction to find a job.wow......... Really how much these social networking sites are making our life so easy? From searching friends, Fans, Clubs to Jobs... Journey is getting long and long.
As we all know the advantages and disadvantages of it. But still popularity of those is increasing day by day. Now again a new trend has come which makes people to search their job through social networking sites. Not Only a job seekers but Recruiters also now using Social Networking Sites for finding a good candidate.
On July 5th 2010 ET has thrown a light on this topic that "Top IT Firms log on to Social Networking Sites to Hire Middle and Senior-Level Staff".
This article has really going to help the students or new recruiter who has not even knows to what extent networking sites can be used.
It has also mention LinkedIn is an Ideal for senior and mid-level managers and Orkut and Face book is helped to get a fresher’s or less than 3 years of experience. It will help to capture Passive job seekers through LinkedIn and Face book.

My point is that we all can definitely go for it but we should be aware while giving details. Identifying a real identity would be a great task for recruiters through these sites. False identities frauds may cause to lose candidates. Many of these problems may arise. But benefit will be a hundred percent more than a traditional method.
So all of us should aware the opportunities also threats which may come through these sites.
But yes it is new trends which definitely going to help us all till any type of fraud or threat comes or we directly hit by it.
